[Netarchivesuite-curator] Brief KB/SB update

Dear all.

Just a short summary on our July/august activities:
[cid:image001.gif at 01CFB2F7.92EE22E0]       We have finished our 2nd broad crawl 2014 and will start the 3rd one in the end of August..
[cid:image001.gif at 01CFB2F7.92EE22E0]       In the end of July Netarchive surmounted 500 TB
[cid:image001.gif at 01CFB2F7.92EE22E0]       A Citrix access solution to our wayback is almost in place, we  are doing the final tests and bug fixes.
[cid:image001.gif at 01CFB2F7.92EE22E0]       We are still working on requirements for a new platform for our documentation. Confluence wiki probably will be part of the solution.

Subject: [Netarchivesuite-curator] ONB update

Dear all,

We have finished our event crawl about EU elections and are about to start the Word War I crawl.

For the first time me managed to involve a subject librarian in the selection of websites. It is not an official task for subject librarians to contribute to the webarchive, but we tried to established some good personal connections. In the past they have been quite reluctant, but we found out that this was not because of workload or lack of interest. They needed some training about online media, because they were lacking some basic IT-skills and are not very familiar with the medium. We invested some time in that effort and I think we will be able to build on that relationship in the future.

Besides, we are working on a new user interface that will be made available online in the fall. Access to our content is still restricted, but we will provide a simple search interface with the information if a site is available or not.
