A quick correction - we still run postgres 8 here, but NAS has been thoroughly tested in 9 and 11.

Hi Miguel,

I believe BnF run NAS with postgres 11 and we use postgres 9. Both seem to work well.

Docker has only ever been used for local testing. I don't believe anyone has experimented with running NAS in docker in a production environment, so it's certainly not necessary.

We have only just started upgrading servers to RHEL8 so I can't say for sure whether there are any problems with it.

The Broker version is important. We would dearly love to move to a more recent and better-supported broker when we have development time to look at it. This is exactly the sort of change where our dockerised test-architecture will help enormously - it would be so trivial to fire up a different broker (or different postgres or linux version for that matter).

best regards,

Colin

Asunto: Some questions about NAS architecture

Hi Everybody!

We are going to migrate our NAS version from 5.4.2 to 6.0, and there are some questions I would like to make:

· About Postgres version: Any recomendations? Actually We have the version 9.4 and We want to install the latest, but don’t know if there is any issue with newer versions and the NAS performance. Also, We have a cluster with a Master-Slave, but don’t know if it is necessary or it works well without the cluster.

· About docker: Again, any recomendations? Actually We don’t use It. Is it necessary?

· About the Operating System: Our actual version is RedHat 7, and we want to move to 8. Has anyone detected any issues with this version?

· About the Broker: We are just trying to install and test the version that Bert told to me (4.5.2) in our actual environment.

Thanks to all!

Best regards,

Miguel Soleto.
